Sabanci Foundation's "Turkey's Changemakers" TV program shares inspiring stories of individuals who make a difference in social and economic development.

The 23rd episode of Sabanci Foundation's "Turkey's Changemakers" tells the story of Erhan Agbaba.

Erhan Agbaba works as a guidance counselor in an elementary school in Istanbul. He develops many projects and presents them at workshops and conferences in different cities in Turkey.

Erhan Agbaba's "I Can Succeed If You Appreciate" Project criticizes education systems that evaluate children based on their grades. The project argues that children's social and cultural activities should also be appreciated.

Agbaba's another project emphasizes the positive impact of parents' involvement in school administration to children's performance at the school. In addition to these, he developed "Parent Education" Project, which aims to give education to parents on many issues including school-phobia and to organize seminars to discuss children's problems at schools. Last but not least, Agbaba's "School Administration Based on Children's Rights" Project argues reorganization of school administration systems based on children's rights and works to raise awareness for children's rights.

Erhan Agbaba presented his projects at "Best Practices in Education Conference" organized by Education Reform Initiative, a project of the Istanbul Policy Center based at the Sabanci University, and several local workshops in different cities in Turkey. With the support of Governorship in Istanbul, it is planned to implement "Parent Education" Project in Istanbul. In addition to his projects, Agbaba organizes several seminars for teachers and parents. Thanks to "Umraniye Seeks for Best Practices in Education" Conference, which will occur every April in Umraniye, a district of Istanbul, teachers in Umraniye can share their ideas and projects among themselves.
