 THIS WEEK'S CHANGEMAKER: HACI ORMANOGLU


Sabanci Foundation's "Turkey's Changemakers" TV program shares inspiring stories of individuals who make a difference in social and economic development.

The 30th episode of Sabanci Foundation’s “Turkey’s Changemakers” tells the story of Haci Ormanoglu.

Haci Ormanoglu is a teacher of 15 years, in a small town of Elazig, a city in Eastern Turkey. He has devoted his life to his students through art, culture, exchange and community project activities. He established the Rosebud Association in 2006 and organized reading campaigns, the “Healthy Teeth Campaign” and a Kite Festival. Rosebud Association has reached 4 thousand children so far.

Haci Ormanoglu created a Reading Room and Painting Areas for children with the furniture that was stored in the storage areas of the National Education Administration in Elazig. He also gave speeches on "Preventing Violence in Schools" and "How to be a Model Teacher" in several schools and universities. Last but not least he published a book called "I Love Them So Much!"
