Background

Although Mardin is a multilingual and multicultural city, there are limited social and cultural opportunities for youth. There is a need for culture and art events that will attract young people for social participation.

 

Project Goals     

  • In Istanbul and Mardin:
    • 20 students from Mardin Kızıltepe Cumhuriyet Anatolian High School will be forming a theatre play during 8 months, in which they will describe the society they are living in.
    • Through performing the play in different venues; the youth will reach 1,450 young people and have the opportunity to talk about the project.
    • Apart from the play, social peace and gender equality themes will be deeply analyzed with the participants through language, multiculturalism, gender equality workshops.
    • Via trainings and meetings, young people living in Istanbul and Mardin will develop a culture of living together.
