Founded in 1989, EFC is the leading membership association that represents public-benefit foundations at European level. Based in Brussels, EFC aims to create supportive legal environments for foundations, strengthen the third sector, and build bridges and foster partnerships between foundations and other actors in the sector. 

Sabanci Foundation has been a member of the European Foundation Centre (EFC) since 1991 and was elected to the Governing Council in 2011. Sabanci Foundation also actively participates in annual meetings by moderating panels and participating in sessions and is a member of the EFC Disability Consortium membership.
