Sakıp Sabancı Sports Award

The Sakip Sabanci Sports Awards are given to professional athletes who win gold medal titles in Olympic Games, Paralympics Games and Special Olympics World Summer Games.

Following is the scope of awards given to successful athletes:

  • Olympic Games: A cash payment in Turkish Lira that is equivalent of 240 Republican gold coins in total to be equally distributed among professional Turkish athletes who win gold medal (the maximum amount per athlete is a cash equivalent of 40 Republican gold coins)
  • Paralympics Games: A cash payment in Turkish Lira that is equivalent of 240 Republican gold coins in total to be equally distributed among professional Turkish athletes who win gold medal (the maximum amount per athlete is a cash equivalent of 40 Republican gold coins)
  • Special Olympics World Summer Games: A cash payment in Turkish Lira that is equivalent of 240 Republican gold coins in total to be equally distributed among professional Turkish athletes who win gold medal (the maximum amount per athlete is a cash equivalent of 40 Republican gold coins)
