Fifth Short Film Competition

The Short Film Competition, organized by the Sabancı Foundation since 2016 in order to attract attention to social issues through arts, is now open to applications for 2020. "Who is Affected by the Climate Crisis?" the theme of the Sabancı Foundation Short Film Competition, which will be held for the fifth time with the slogan, has been determined as "Changing Climate, Changing Lives".

The Sabancı Foundation 5th Short Film Competition is open to applications until 20 November 2020. The Competition is open to works with a duration of 5 minutes or less and address the issue of climate change.

The preliminary jury will evaluate all the projects to determine the finalists starting from the deadline for applications, 20 November 2020 to 21 December 2020. The finalists will be announced on 21 December 2020. 3 award-winning projects determined by the jury will be announced during the award ceremony to be held by the Sabancı Foundation on 13 January 2021.

The director (owner of the work) and/or the producer of a work submitted to the Competition must be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. One person may apply to the Competition with more than one film, and the competition is open to works which have not been screened anywhere else before or awarded a prize. Owners of the Work may not have any feature-length films shot until now. There is no age limitation to enter the competition.

Works considered to be catchy and creative, meeting the criteria and presenting the causes of climate change, its effects on our lives and what needs to be done in this regard will be awarded as follows: first prize is 20,000 TL, second prize 15,000 TL and third prize 10,000 TL.
