"Be a Good Person, Have a Good Education and Work for Civil Society"

Güler Sabancı, Chairman of Sabancı Foundation Board of Trustees, indicated that their aim is to inspire individuals to be changemakers by celebrating active citizens, who are responsive to their environment and social issues. Ms. Sabancı added "Approximately 10 years ago, we met with Sabancı University graduates in Boston. Mr. Özdemir, you were with us too and you told us about the Turkey's Changemakers idea. We became very excited there and as Sabancı Foundation we said, we will support you. Today, Turkey's Changemakers program came to a very good point and grew with a snowball effect thanks to the contributions of you and my colleagues from the Foundation. But heartfelt participation of many people lies behind this success. Here, young people have a great responsibility. My suggestion to young people is to be a good person and have a good education. Also, I believe that it is important to take part in an NGO. What makes life valuable and meaningful is to make a change in one's life and being helpful to others."
