EFC Disability Thematic Network

Sabancı Foundation is a founding member of EFC Disability Thematic Network, formerly known as the European Consortium of Foundations on Human Rights and Disability, which is a platform established in 2009 with the aim of creating synergy between donor foundations and the other stakeholders for promoting the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Other founding members of the Network, where only Sabancı Foundation is based in Turkey, are foundations operating in Spain, France, Portugal, and Ireland.

The aim of the group, managed by the European Center for Foundations and Essl Foundation (Austria), is to make the UN convention in Europe ratify by the countries and to encourage its implementation effectively. Sharing knowledge, experience, resources, and know-how are expected from the members.

Sabancı Foundation contributed to the ‘How Do They Do It? EFC Members Share Good Practice on Organising Accessible Events Report’ prepared by the Thematic Network members in 2020, especially with the accessibility standards applied in Philanthropy Seminars. For the full report please click here.
