Sabancı Foundation brought together the civil society organizations it supports within the scope of its 18-year-old Grant Program at the “Sowing Season” event. Güler Sabancı, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Sabancı Foundation, stated, “Thanks to the grant program we launched to provide lifeblood to civil society organizations, today the outcomes of nearly 250 projects we support across 81 provinces have affected 4.6 million people.” The Sabancı Foundation gathered with the civil society organizations it has continuously supported through its Grant Program for 18 years at the traditional “Sowing Season” event. Hosted by Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Sabancı Foundation Güler Sabancı, the event shared the stories of eight projects supported during the 2023-2024 period.
Güler Sabancı emphasized the Foundation’s 50-year commitment to creating a society where all individuals equally benefit from rights: “As we always say, solving social problems cannot be the effort of a single institution alone. For this reason, we support cooperation and working together against deepening inequalities. Thanks to the grant program we initiated to provide lifeblood to civil society organizations, we have directly touched the lives of over 300,000 people in 81 provinces. To date, the results of nearly 250 projects we supported have impacted 4.6 million people. We are living through multiple, interrelated crises worldwide at the same time. This situation increases the need for solidarity and joining forces. Therefore, we know how critical it is to support civil society organizations that can implement concrete and effective solutions. For 18 years, we have not only provided grant support to civil society organizations; we have also walked alongside them and shared our accumulated experience mutually,” she said.

Referring to the eight organizations supported during the 2023-2024 Grant Program period, Güler Sabancı said: “We see valuable work with intense efforts on issues such as ensuring equal rights for people with disabilities, empowering children and youth through educational materials and arts-based activities, and increasing women’s active participation in life and decision-making processes. I wholeheartedly congratulate all project teams for their dedication to their goals and the great commitment they show in their work.”

At the Sowing Season gathering, the Turkey Alzheimer Association, Contemporary Drama Association, Alternative Media and Communication Association, Günbağı Village Culture and Solidarity Association, Troy Culture Association, Dem Association, Döngü Cooperative, and Housewives’ Solidarity and Development Association (EVKAD) had the opportunity to share the results of their projects, experiences during implementation, future plans, and beneficiaries’ stories.
