BACKGROUND
It is necessary to take advantage of the opportunities technology offers on all rings of the value chain to increase the competitive power of the economy and render it sustainable. For this purpose, it is necessary to contribute to the development of students and teachers who can demonstrate the modern educational requirements followed by the world in the field of technology.
PROJECT GOALS
- Total of 200 teachers in Adana, Adıyaman, Afyon, Balıkesir and Bartın will receive two-day long face-to-face design thinking training.
- Teachers who participated trainings will form teams of 4-6 students. Approximately 3,000 students will develop projects on independent living, environment, energy and daily life by using technology kits.
- 20 teams whose projects are a step ahead will be invited to seven-day long camp at Sabancı University.
- During the camp, in-depth technical support will be provided to the teams, practices will be organized to support personal skills of young people and visits will be made.
- 600 teachers from all around Turkey will be trained to improve their hardware, design, software and project management skills via online trainings.
Project Results
- In Adana, Adıyaman, Afyon, Balıkesir and Bartın, 189 teachers were given face-to-face and two-day design thinking training.
- 15 volunteer butterfly parents attended parent support and mentoring meetings.
- The teachers who participated in the trainings, together with their students, developed 46 technology-based projects in the fields of smart city, smart agriculture, education and health.
- Online courses on programming, design and project management were created with the website designed within the scope of the project. 568 people registered for the courses. The website has been made accessible to everyone and turned into an online platform where anyone can join.

- At secondary school level, 26 children listened to tales and stories from adults using the oral history method and recorded them.
- At high school level, 13 children listened to the history of Sur from the adults using the oral history method and recorded it.
- The games and tales collected by the primary and secondary school groups were mapped and the collected tales were transformed into a book with the children.
- The children in the high school group explored ethnic identities, forgotten professions and cultural motifs and staged a traditional theatre play written and performed jointly by the four groups.
