45 teachers selected out of 80 that have previously participated in gender awareness workshops. Reach of at least 1000 teachers and their 30.000 students and their families in Izmir at the completion of the project
The aim of this project is to develop content and a program to train trainers (teachers) in Izmir on gender issues and domestic violence so that they may incorporate this perspective in their classroom teaching thus sharing this training with other teachers and transferring this knowledge to students. A 5-day training program will be prepared by a team consisting of academicians and educators who are experts in their fields. 45 teachers divided into groups of 15 will attend an intensive and interactive trainer's program for 5 consecutive days. A team chosen among the 45 teachers in the program will conduct a training program in a pilot district/pilot public institution with the support of their trainers.
