Sabanci Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Adana

The school was commissioned in 1976 as Vocational High School of Textile for Girls with the joint efforts of the Ministry of National Education and Sasa to improve textile education and to meet the middle-level worker demand of the textile industry. With equipment and financial contributions from the Sabanci Foundation, it was transformed into the Anatolian Vocational High School in the academic year of 1983-1984, and started to provide foreign language education. In the academic year of 1988-1989, Anatolian Technical High School for Textile was opened within the body of the school and in 1999, after being repaired and restored with the contributions of Sabanci Foundation, the school has achieved its modern look that it has today.

Operating under the name of Sabanci Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, the usage rights of the school has been transferred to the Ministry of National Education. The school building has been established on a total area of 12.250 square meters and has a closed area of 9.300 square meters. At the school, where the workshops are furnished with all kinds of equipment used in the textile industry, in addition to the general-purpose classes on clothing industry technology and textile technology (knitting, weaving, treatment, yarn) programs, specialty classes are also given in classrooms of 30 students. There is a multipurpose conference hall with a capacity of 200 people, a small indoor sports facility, 7 sections, each comprising one workshop (with internet connection), chemistry and physics laboratories, 2 computer laboratories, each with 15-student capacity, chess room, a library, a cafeteria with a capacity to hold 150 people and a canteen. While providing formal education to the students, the school also provides vocational classes for adults and education for those who could not complete their education or for those, who would like to educate themselves in different fields for alternative job opportunities. Furthermore, Shoemaking and Leathercraft Technologies Department has been in place since 2009, and Child Development and Education, Catering Services and Applied Kindergarten have been in place since 2010.
