Journey of Independence: Exploring the Bandırma Ferry Virtually
We transformed the Bandırma Ferry, originally reconstructed as an exact replica by the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality in 2001, into a virtual museum. This historic ferry, which played a pivotal role in carrying Mustafa Kemal Atatürk—the founder of the Turkish Republic—during the critical journey to Samsun, opened as a museum on May 18, 2003 and has since welcomed thousands of visitors every year. Today, thanks to modern technology, this symbol of Türkiye’s independence and Atatürk’s visionary leadership can be explored virtually, preserving its legacy for future generations
