At Sabancı Foundation, we envision an education system where 21st century skills are fostered within a positive school climate. To this end, we attach great importance to strengthening a collaborative school climate among students, teachers, parents, and all school stakeholders in order to support the creation of permanent and effective learning environments, and we carry out initiatives in this direction.
The pilot implementation was launched in 2017 at Hacı Sabancı Anatolian High School, one of the Foundation’s permanent works. Within the scope of the pilot, school-wide practices were introduced to promote social-emotional and cognitive development—one of the two core pillars of a positive school climate. By engaging all stakeholders of the educational environment and process, including students, teachers, administrators, and parents, the initiative aimed to develop a sustainable school climate model and to disseminate the knowledge and experience gained.
In line with this objective, the model was implemented at the following permanent works of the Foundation:
In addition, the project was implemented at Başakşehir Borsa Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Istanbul. Through a cooperation protocol signed with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, the model was expanded during the 2022–2023 academic year to 78 schools across 39 districts of Istanbul.
